Leadership

Our Team

Behind the platform sits a professional team of about sixty people across investment, research, portfolio operations, risk and corporate functions, supporting the judgment made at the leadership level.

The team numbers about sixty, all working from the Beijing headquarters, at a scale that sits in a particular range: small enough that every person is known through specific projects, large enough to support a concentrated portfolio spanning six strategies and multiple industries. Investment, research, portfolio operations, risk and corporate functions each carry defined boundaries but collaborate closely — an investment manager draws directly on research's sector maps, and portfolio operations and risk engage almost simultaneously once a transaction closes, rather than waiting for a formal handover.

Seniority follows a graduated structure: the leadership team makes directional judgment, vice presidents and managers carry out evaluation and tracking of specific opportunities, and associates and junior researchers take part in substantive work from the outset. The Leadership page covers the firm's senior management; this page introduces the broader professional team beneath them who carry out the day-to-day work.

Investment Team

Gao Xiang · Vice President, Private Investments

Previously in the mergers and acquisitions division of a global investment bank, structuring several control transactions. Focused on private investments, with strength in deals combining a founder exit with management succession; currently leads two opportunities under evaluation.

Ruan Siyuan · Investment Manager, Growth Investments

Began on the strategy team of a management consulting firm, accustomed to forming industry hypotheses under limited information. Handles opportunity screening and early diligence for growth investments, having led initial screens across two industries this past year.

Bai Ruoxi · Investment Manager, Technology Investments

Previously in the technology research group of a global asset management firm before moving into deal execution. Time splits roughly evenly across technical diligence, tracking existing holdings and sector-map maintenance, and is one of the few team members with an engineering background.

Research Team

Kang Zi'ang · Senior Research Associate, Industrials

Covers industrials and manufacturing on a continuous basis, scheduling regular factory visits and talking directly with plant managers. The sector map he maintains has been updated continuously for years and is among the first internal resources the investment team consults.

Min Jie · Research Associate, Healthcare & Consumer

Covers both healthcare and consumer, a pairing that reflects overlapping demand drivers between the two — demographic shifts affect both directly. Work includes tracking regulation and channel data; less than two years in, she has already produced an independent sector report.

Portfolio Operations & Risk

Shi Lan · Deputy Director, Portfolio Operations

Previously on the operating advisory team of a global asset management firm, providing operational diagnostics to portfolio companies. Now oversees a cross-company operating benchmark tool and rotates through day-to-day follow-up on three or four companies at a time.

Gong Zheng · Risk Manager

Background is primarily quantitative, having worked in the market-risk division of a global investment bank. Handles quantitative tracking of portfolio exposure, watching for hidden correlations between holdings, and compiles an internal risk brief each quarter.

Corporate Functions

Wen Ya · Finance Manager

Handles treasury operations and financial reporting, having previously managed multi-currency, cross-entity arrangements at a multinational's finance shared-services center. Current focus is standardizing reporting formats across portfolio companies.

Shao Yiming · Legal Counsel

Practiced for several years in a law firm's corporate department before joining to focus on transaction-document review and compliance. Work follows transaction timing — involved in contract negotiation during diligence, then ongoing compliance checks once a deal closes.

Zhu Tianze · Head of Technology & Data

Previously built data infrastructure at a technology company, and has led construction of the firm's internal portfolio-monitoring system, consolidating key operating data onto a single platform. Given the team's small size, he remains personally involved in designing most systems.

Han Lu · Corporate Communications Manager

Previously an account manager at a public relations consultancy, handling external communications for corporate clients. Coordinates the Insights platform's publishing pace, focused on keeping different authors' pieces consistent in style and messaging.

Joining the Team

Team growth is driven by specific capability gaps rather than a fixed headcount plan. For candidates interested in investment, research, portfolio operations or corporate functions, the Careers page describes how the firm works and how hiring proceeds.
