Opportunities

The team brings in talent through three routes: experienced-hire recruiting, a graduate program, and research-focused internships.

Three routes

Experienced Professionals

Open to candidates with relevant prior experience. Hiring runs year-round according to each team's actual needs, not a fixed recruiting season.

Graduate Opportunities

A small, structured graduate program. The first year rotates between research and investment, giving new hires direct exposure to both before choosing a direction.

Internships

Research-focused, running three to six months, with real workstreams on live sector and company research rather than exercises set apart from the team's actual work.

Experienced hiring: backgrounds that transfer

Experienced hiring is not limited to conventional investment backgrounds. Candidates from strategy consulting, corporate strategy functions or operating roles in industry often bring a more grounded, firsthand understanding of a specific sector. Candidates with an accounting, legal or engineering background bring distinct value to the concrete work of diligence and portfolio operations. What is checked repeatedly is analytical rigor, written communication, and a habit of working through detail rather than stopping at a conclusion — qualities that predict fit here better than any one specific résumé line.

Through the interview process, the team is more interested in how a candidate describes one specific past judgment than in a list of prior projects. Being able to explain the assumptions behind it, and what later confirmed or overturned them, says more about how someone works than a long résumé, and maps more closely onto the work required day to day after joining.

The graduate program

The program is kept deliberately small each year, so every new hire gets direct guidance from a senior colleague rather than being routed through a standardized training track. The first-year rotation splits roughly evenly between research and investment, giving new hires a grounded understanding of how the two teams divide and coordinate work before settling on a longer-term direction, informed by both their own interest and team feedback.

Internships

Internships typically run three to six months, embedded in a specific workstream the research team is already running — an initial screen of a sub-sector, or groundwork on a company under evaluation. Interns take on a real portion of that work, and what they produce gets used, rather than set aside once the internship ends. The supervising researcher gives regular, specific feedback on which judgments hold up and which conclusions need more support, building a grounded sense of what research work actually involves within a short period.

How to apply

Whichever route fits, the starting point is the Contact page. State the discipline and role of interest, and include written material that shows how you actually reason through a problem — a completed piece of research or a worked example is more useful than a cover letter alone. The team will follow up with candidates who fit, moving into the stages of the recruitment process.
