What this site actually stores
The information this website stores in a browser is deliberately narrow — two items, both needed for basic site functions, with nothing stored for advertising or tracking purposes. Each is described below.
Storage items
Language choice
An identifier resembling "language preference", held in session storage; its purpose is to remember the interface language chosen for the current visit; duration is session-only, cleared automatically once the browser tab or window closes and the visit ends. Chinese is always the default on a new visit.
Cookie-preference record
An identifier resembling "cookie preferences", held in local storage; its purpose is to remember the choices a visitor makes in the cookie banner or preferences dialog; duration is persistent, remaining until the visitor changes it or clears browser data, and is not cleared when a single visit ends.
Beyond these two items, the site also generates standard technical server logs used for site operation and security purposes; these are server-side records rather than a cookie or local-storage item held in the browser, and are described in the Privacy Policy.

Consequences of disabling storage
Because this site sets no analytics or advertising storage, disabling the "preferences" category does not affect the core browsing experience — it simply means the choice made in the preferences dialog will not be remembered on the next visit and will need to be set again. If a browser blocks all local storage entirely, the language choice will also reset to the Chinese default on every visit.
